At our August meeting, we were honored to have Stanislaus County Supervisor Jim DeMartini give a thrilling speach on the topic of “Inside Politics.”

Our nominating committee has nominated several candidates, and any other nominations must be submitted to our club president before September 13 at 11:30am.  The September 14th meeting is when we will be voting on the nominations, so please RSVP ASAP if you haven’t already!

Our keynote speaker for this month’s meeting is “Capturing the Vote” by Imelda Sheppard!

A native Texan and a life-long Republican, Imelda, her husband David and their son Alan, have lived in Tuolumne County for 25 years. She has been a member of the Tuolumne County Republican Women Federated for 25 years and has held various offices in her club.

Imelda comes from a Hispanic family background. Her family was bi-lingual, and Imelda describes it as also “bi-cultural”. None the less, she did not follow the trend of the majority who grew up in such environments by choosing to be a Democrat. With eyes wide open to what is happening in this country, she has served as one of the most active and is one of the most knowledgeable Republicans in our district.
